【內容簡介】：
高嶺清鷹由于智力超群而被中學的同學們疏遠，為此他自暴自棄的不願意上學。
某天一個叫卡修的奇怪小孩來到他家，自稱清鷹之父是自己的救命恩人，
為了報恩他來到日本幫助和教導清鷹。遠在英國的父親寄來的信中曾說卡修失去了記憶，
而他隨身攜帶的一本紅色書籍似乎和其身世有關。

那本寫滿奇怪文字的書連博學的父親也無法理解，但是清鷹卻發現自己竟然可以讀出書中類似咒語的文字。
卡修逐漸溶入清鷹的生活後，身邊的怪事也越來越多，他們先後碰到了幾對人類與這種怪小孩的搭檔組合，他們也都有著各自不同顏色的魔法書。
清鷹也終于明白，這些奇怪的孩子是操縱自然元素的媒介，而魔法書是呼喚這些力量的鑰匙。
隨著接觸同樣人類與怪小孩搭檔的事件越來越多，真相也漸漸清晰：所有的人類都是這些來自魔界、為競爭下屆魔界統治者者而進行比賽的工具。

這些魔界之子的目的就是毀滅除自己擁有以外的一切魔法書，勝者就將成為王者。為了達到目的，他們利用人類貪婪無止境的欲望。
而清鷹和卡修，他們卻是為了消除這些欲望而戰鬥著。
